Abstract

This study purpose to analyze the influences of antecedent factors (organizational support, self-efficacy, organizational identification and professional identity) on the perceived stress of Accounting Sciences professors at federal public education institutions. To this end, 81 responses were collected through a survey and the data was analyzed using the structural equation technique. It was evident that organizational support positively influences organizational identification, and self-efficacy positively influences professor’ professional identity, even in moments of social isolation. Although organizational support positively influenced organizational identification, it was indifferent in relation to the level of perceived stress. Likewise, professor self-efficacy positively influenced professional identity, however, it was not significant in influencing perceived stress. This evidence contributes to the literature and institutional practices of organizational support at federal universities, in the training of professors and in their attention to psychological health.
